After endless emails, multiple purchases, several doctor visits, lots of trips to the storage unit, one very important vote, several calls to change my address, countless arrangements, one spontaneous dance party, lots of thank-you's, several good-byes, experiencing a range of emotions, and a few shots....
The to-do list has been completed, the bags have been packed.
I guess I am as ready as I'll ever be.
I recently visited my Nonni (Italian for Grandma) and she had this prayer of St. Francis of Assisi in the bedroom, I have thought of it often these past few weeks:
Lord, Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Mole, you made it! If you are reading this you are now safely in Africa and have survived a few of your fears! Congratulations....today is your day...you're off to great places....you're off and away...and will you succeed?...yes, its 99 and 3/4 percent guaranteed! I will miss you, but I'm proud of you and excited to hear about every crazy adventure. Do not leave any detail unreported (at least in your journal/future best selling book). Take care babe, Maude
I also love that you listed your occupation in your profile as "nomadic nurse"....very funny yet true!
Thanks for putting that prayer up there mole. Little did you know that I needed it this morning. By the way, you are a great writer. keep it up. Another by the way, Krystal kept a blog of her house building and was able to DIRECTLY transfer it to a photo album online. How cool what that be! Enjoy your adventures. I will be praying that your faith and trust in Jesus will be stretched and that you will never be the same because of it.
You're in Africa now! We're practically next door. I'm very excited for you babe. I'm proud of everything you're going to do this year and the guts you have. See you soon! And thanks for packing my hairspray in that bag of yours. :) Me and my big hair - doesn't change no matter the continent. :) See you soon!
